In today's modern era of photography, most wedding packages include an online gallery or a USB with the high-resolution image files for couples to be able to have access to forever and likely print their own images. But the reality is that most of these image files stay locked in digital limbo and never get printed (or even backed up to a second location) if your wedding package doesn't already include some sort of print package. After spending so much on the photography services to have your wedding day documented, it's important to #printyourphotos. One of my favorite ways to do this is with the creation of a wedding album.
Wedding albums are the best bang for your buck in terms of getting the most images in print. For the price of a canvas print of one image, you can have a reasonably sized album with a few dozen images to display. The page spreads allow for you to layout multiple images in differing design options, so each spread is like its own gallery wall of images.
Albums are also books, meant to tell the story of your day. As your photographer and album designer, I work with you to take the images that you want in your album and piece them together in a narrative way and really capture the essence of the day they way we experienced it. So every time you look through your album, you'll be reliving the joy and love of your wedding day.
Your wedding album also becomes a treasured heirloom as your family grows. Albums today are not like they once were, where you would slip 4x6 prints into a sleeved pocket binder. Today, wedding albums are customizable art objects, created from archival materials meant to last for decades. You'll be able to share your wedding album with your children and grandchildren, who undoubtedly will marvel at the idea that you were once young (I know I did to my Grammie).
There's also no feeling like seeing your beautiful photos in print. seeing them online makes you feel good, but the tangible quality of being in print brings an added emotion to the experience that cannot be over-stated. In addition, you don't want to waste time in getting your photos printed. Life gets in the way and before you know it years have gone by and you never did anything to print your wedding photos, and where did you put that USB? If something happens to the digital files and you never printed any of your wedding photos in an album or wall art, you'll be left with nothing from your investment. More on backing up digital files to come.
