Second Shooter Jobs

I'm available for second shooter jobs in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and parts of New York, New Jersey and Vermont. I prefer to know 3 months in advance if you would like me to reserve your clients' date for being the second photographer, however I can sometimes take on last minute opportunities.

I have two Nikon bodies (d750 & d780).

I have a variety of lenses for Nikon F-mount. My two favorite lenses for shooting weddings are my Sigma 24-70 and my Sigma 70-200. I also have the following lenses - Nikon 60mm macro, Nikon 85mm f/1.8, Nikon 35mm f/1.8, and a Tokina 16-28mm fisheye.

I have two speedlight flashes equipped for use with MagMod MagSphere and MagGrid. These flashes can be used on my camera bodies or for OCF use.

I've been an art and hobby photographer since 2009, and began taking wedding clients in late 2016. Since 2017 I have been a full time wedding and engagement photographer for all kinds of weddings.

I prefer to be at outdoor, intimate weddings when I can, but I am more than comfortable helping you handle a large crowd in a big ballroom venue.

I like to think of my approach as mostly documentary, with some prompted-posed imagery for portraits.

I am super organized for my own weddings, with detailed portrait lists and timelines all laid out for both myself and my own second shooters. But that doesn't mean I can't just relax and go with the flow, too. My philosophy is to be prepared for everything and down for anything (because no wedding day ever goes according to plan).

For second shooter jobs I require a minimum of $50 per hour.

As an associate photographer I will accept anywhere from $100-$150 per hour.

If you would like to hire me as a mentor/second shooter for a wedding that you have booked, my rate is a $1200 flat fee for the day.

I do not edit the photos I take for you without additional compensation above these posted rates.

Meet Emma - Your new favorite Second Shooter

Hey there! I'm Emma. I'm loud, goofy and I love being at weddings.

I've been photographing weddings for over five years, and I know how important it is to have a second photographer that you can count on to deliver the goods for you. Having worked with a lot of different second shooters myself, I can appreciate that you don't want to sift through a ton of out of focus or poorly composed images that don't add value to your client's gallery.

My favorite part of a wedding day is preparations, and I love hanging out with the guys while they get ready. I'm a big fan of First Looks and I love to get the couple's facial expressions during the ceremony. At the reception, I can party like the best of them and I'm out there on the dance floor grooving my way through the crowd and getting in where the action is.
